2022 has been a whirlwind in the property market with one thing we can all agree on being its unpredictability. CoreLogic has noted that Sydney home values are down 10.2% since their January peak, however, this is following an extraordinary 27.7% rise. Gone are the dramatic declines we saw mid year with property values seemingly plateaued and relatively stable during the past few months with a small rise so far in December, according to SQM Research. As for stock on the market, we've seen an increase compared to last year, however, still below levels seen in 2018 and 2019. Read on for more...

With all the talk of interest rate increases and the downward pressure many say this will have on the property market, savvy buyers will understand that the cash rate alone will not dictate price trajectory in its entirety. In the immediate to short term, we may even see growth continue, albeit slower, as buyers scramble to get into the market and lock in a lower rate while they still can. On the flip side, its no secret that demand for property, even in our biggest markets Sydney and Melbourne is still sky high and if the economics of supply and demand has taught us anything over the past 2 years its that a dramatic decline in prices is never a sure thing as long as the buyers keep showing up! https://lnkd.in/d5PhxuZh
